Intermediate Market Rents

Intermediate renting is a scheme which offers properties for rent at less than market rents. These are usually 20% lower than what you might expect to pay for a similar home in a similar area, if you were renting from a private landlord. Properties will be let on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy basis.

This scheme is for people who are currently priced out of the housing market as it caters for people who are a low priority for social rent. Intermediate rent options are not usually available to people who are adequately housed, or those who can afford market rents, or can purchase a property without assistance. You are likely to be eligible for intermediate renting if your salary is between £15,000 - £30,000.

Market Rents

Market rented homes are ideal for individuals, couples and families who are able to afford private sector prices but want to live in well managed properties from a reputable landlord.

By renting from a local housing association, you can be assured that the rent you pay, will be reinvested into your community or used to build new homes.

Please note that individual housing associations will have their own criteria for letting intermediate and market rent properties. To secure one of these rental properties, you will be expected to pay a bond, one month's rent in advance and provide references.
